Niche Academy site will be changing

Starting this month, the MD State Library Agency will be reviewing the contents of the Maryland Libraries Training Academy on Niche Academy site.  Current content will be evaluated and weeded based on age, usage, and accessibility, and the site will be reorganized once these changes are complete.

Please finish any tutorials/webinars that interest you by March 27, in preparation for changes to the site.  The MSLA will start removing content on March 30, and review the site every 6 months in the future.

City of Baltimore Registration Form and Process

If you are interested in taking one of the classes offered by the City DHR, you need to print the registration form, complete the first page, and get your supervisor to sign, and then send it to SD&T.  If the relevance of the class to your position is not obvious, you also need to submit a goals and intentions statement as well.

MLA/DLA 2016 Conference Notes - check out Lanyrd.com

A lot of the information from the MLA/DLA 2016 conference can be found on Lanyrd.com.  You have to register (name and email) but you'll have access to the conference information including speaker lists, session links, slides decks, and even the Twitter hashtag.

Lanyrd.com also gives you access to notes and information from other conferences across the globe.  You can search by place, topic, type of event, or date.  Today, for example, there are conferences in Germany, Portugal, and Ireland.  Not everything will be relevant, but it is interesting.
